New: Improved forming shoulder for tubular bags made of paper
The rediscovery of paper as a packaging material for many areas of application requires suitable forming shoulders.
In principle, shoulders for laminates can be adapted by cleverly rounding the forming edge so that paper can also be processed. However, the results do not achieve the quality known from films.
We have set ourselves the task of changing this situation.
The basis was our many years of experience with the computer-aided modelling of forming shoulders. In numerous series of tests, a new approach to forming was developed that converts packaging materials with the properties of paper into a tube without creases or folds. The process is not only suitable for round, but also delivers very good results for rectangular or polygonal cross-sections:
The necessary, complex shape of the forming edge can only be produced with great effort using conventional methods. 3D printed components are used here, which have a high level of precision and reproducibility.
The calculation approach also makes it possible to take changes in the packaging properties into account in the design phase without the need for extensive testing.
With this patented solution, we are opening up expanded options for users when using paper or paper-based packaging materials.
