DLC / Diamor®-coating

DLC- (Diamond-Like Carbon) or Diamor®- (Diamant+amorph) layers consist mainly of carbon with disordered atoms and thus combining the properties of graphite, diamond and polymers. They are very hard, highly elastic and feature very good sliding characteristics. They are chemically resistant and feature a bluish purple to black tone depending on the material to be coated and the thickness of the coat. Due to the high proportion of diamond-like bonds, a lot of their properties are close to those of diamond. This material, too, is physiologically and in terms of food hygiene harmless. In order to minimize the wear of the forming shoulders during the chafing of the DLC coat, another chromium nitride coat can be applied underneath.
