Impulse band material
a) low-resistance (LR)
b) high-resistance (HR)
When and why?
LR - can be chamfered
LR - can be used for electronic control instruments
LR - short heating-up time, i.e. needs shorter impulse time
LR - is also used as hollow band, if the bar pressure is not sufficient
HR - can be skewed to a limited extent only
HR - cannot be used for electronic control units
HR - the material needs a longer heating-up time
HR - is often used as hollow band in order to avoid squeezing of edges? (as it cannot be chamfered)
